My son bought me an afternoon tea gift voucher for mother's Day and finally used it at the Craiglands. The afternoon tea was lovely. Far too much food!! Found it funny that a poster advertising upcoming events had a spelling mistake...calender instead of calendar. Lovely setting and would go back in summer for another afternoon tea.
Not impressed. Stayed for 4 nights with work colleagues. Rooms were fine, clean and roomy. However, the food was not great. Considering this is a best Western hotel, I was very surprised. Also, they were very short of staff. Every night we had to go to reception to get someone to serve at both the restaurant and the bar. Room price was OK but food was way too expensive for the taste and size. Won't be going back.

The COLDEST hotel room I have ever stayed in. I will NEVER recommend this hotel. I had to sleep in a dressing gown and towels over our quilt. For our 4 year old we had to double up her quilt and add some towels over her. When I asked at reception, I was told the heating was on a timer and would come back on in the morning. It is unbelievable that the heating is not left on all night so guests can choose how high or low they want their radiators. Only one word sums up our stay SHOCKING !! I felt like I had walked into a fridge when we entered our room in the evening.
