The food was astounding. Had been before but had forgotten just how good the Wheatley is. The bar staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Overall a really pleasant experience
Lovely large room. Good cooked breakfast. Sadly twin room booked but king size bed made up. Was not sorted whilst we went out ....had to ask again.
Great place to enjoy a drink with friends.Its so nice to be able to sit and chat and laugh. BUT....... Last week young children were running around and not being controlled. This made it dangerous for everyone.Glasses, hot food, and kids running dont mix, Parents if you take your kids to an adult pub/drinking hole respect others around you. It spoilt the evening for us.
Google Maps prompted me to review The Wheatley because I went past it. At the time I was standing outside in the pissing rain with the dog.The people inside however looked to be having a splendid time.Highly recommended.
The best pub on Ilkley Moor that you've never heard of... Homely and chic, this small chain local pub at the base of the Moor in Ben Rhydding is run with a passion, providing everything from boutique bedrooms, food & drink, log fires, breakfast and coffee clubs, live gigs and much more. Large car park to one side. Great value rooms with quirky Victorian features (treble height ceiling in the ensuite bathroom, for example). Dog friendly in the bar, but sadly not in the rooms. Well worth a diversion from Ilkley.
