Was here for the Moor Laughs comedy evening, perfect way to spend a Sunday evening! Really loved all the comedians and the venue was great, highly recommended.
Good pub, good food, and friendly helpful staff. Plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, has a pool table too! Had a very enjoyable couple of hours with friends. Recommended.
I've been going to The Taps/Vaults since I was 15, things were more relaxed back then! Went in for dinner with my wife this evening, we actually went for the Sticky Toffee Pudding and whatever else they had.Dinner was excellent and their Gin selection is superb. If you like different Gins then this choice will really take some beating. It's nice to see the old pub moved on but still kept a similar feel and charm to what it had years ago.
A difficult place to rate as it is almost 2 different pubs. We went around 5:30 on a Saturday.Outside, lots of tables set amongst mature trees. A nice setting including cute bubble tents with sofas in. Great beer & friendly staff. Inside: Very dark, dingy and uninviting. We ate in there, and the food was really good (including a very tasty vegetarian pie of the day) but we weren't tempted to stay & order dessert because of the atmosphere. It was completely empty, with the staff stood behind the bar with no other guests to serve.This place had many of the ingredients to be fantastic, but we felt it needed to complete change the lighting & decor inside. Make it feel bright & airy and it would have made us stay longer.
