The Sunday roast pork was really good. Crispy crackling and all. I've had better roast potatoes, but they weren't bad. Something odd was in the carrot and swede mash (mustard seeds?). Puree under the pork was delicious and buttery. Yorkshire pud was great. For the kids meals, they could do with leaving the items separate; we had a mutiny about the presence of peas and one about the wrong kind of gravy on the sausages. Maybe this is not their fault, but the fault of our children... Quite big portions for kids too. Didn't get chance to try the puddings due to "consequences" promised in respect of the aforementioned mutiny.
Good service and good food in spacious, comfortable surroundings. Enjoy the new weekly quiz nights, perfect way to idle away a Sunday evening.
There was a large group of us so we sat outside, which was lovely. They had some wooden huts set up with heaters so perfect for this time of year. We just had drinks but looking at the food while inside it looked good and was busy enough with table's reserved.
